General Assembly of FITCE Belgium
Kortrijk, 1 March, 2008
This year's General Assembly drew a good twenty members and partners to Kortrijk. The group gathered in the museum 'Kortrijk 1302', enjoying a piece of 'Kalletaart' named after the famous Kalle, wife to Manten, who together bang the hours on Kortrijk's belfry. The museum traces back the history of the legendary battle of 1302. After a guided tour of the museum, which injected some realism into traditional conceptions, we stepped outside for a visit to the landmarks of the city.
The protagonists of the battle of 1302 united in a striking tableau 'vivant'

From there we went to the Hotel Broel for a refreshment before starting the main item on the agenda: the formal General Assembly. Our secretary Georges Devroey led us impeccably through the legal procedures. All the traditional items such as the activities of the past year, publications, financial status and budget for next year, were reviewed and where necessary approved. The mandate of a number of the members of the Board had expired: Gerard De Catelle, Piet Demeester, Joannes De Wilde, Jos Dumortier, Filip Geerts, Leo Van Biesen, Marc Van Coppenolle and Marc Verbruggen. All of them were given a new mandate. We regretfully said good-bye to Thomas Reynaert who is making a career move into a wholly different industry - aviation.

Having done the job for which we had come, we could again turn our attention to the more fun aspects of life at FITCE.be and rally around the appetizers. As one can see, the ladies had a great time as well.

And to terminate in beauty, the party joined around a huge table for a sumptuous dinner and great ambiance.

Our president José Van Ooteghem closed the evening with words of thanks to the board members and more in particular to Thomas Reynaert for many years of loyal and competent efforts at the service of our association. He offered a few bottles of wine as a parting gift.
