Competition Announcement

"The goal of the contest is to allow young professionals to share their ideas and views on a specific telecom topic with a larger audience of professionals and leaders from the industry"

The Theme for the competition : The Media and Communications Industry anno 2015
   
This initiative is supported by AGORIA-ICT, the ICT-sector Federation.

Who can participate ?
The contest is open to individuals or teams (*) not older than 32 years on 1/1/2008, resident in Belgium.

(*) The title FITCE.be YOUNG ICT PERSONALITY 2008 will be given to the team leader who is expected to present the team’s contribution to the jury.

Rules of the competition

• Applications are due before 31 January 15 February, 2008.
• A jury of academic and industry professionals will make a first selection based on the documents provided.
• Candidates will be informed by 9 February 24 February, 2008, of their selection for the first round.
• Selected candidates will have to present and defend their topic in English to the jury in a pre-selection round to be scheduled in March 2008. During this pre-selection round, the candidates are expected to address their chosen topic in a 15 min presentation followed by a question & answer session.
• The three best ranked candidates from the pre-selection rounds will compete in the final round which will be held on 17 April, 2008, during a public FITCE.be evening presentation event where an extended jury of senior ICT leaders will select the final winner. During the reception following the presentations, the award winner will be formally announced.
• The criteria for selection will be the original, innovative and relevant aspects of the topic and the knowledge exhibited by the candidate. 
• FITCE.be will be granted the right to use all materials entered in this contest on its website and in its publications.

Awards 
The award for the winner will consist of:

• The ‘FITCE.be YOUNG ICT PERSONALITY 2008’ certificate
• Visibility through various media
• 1000 euro in cash

 All finalists will receive a gift provided by the major FITCE supporting member companies.

All contenders will receive a free one-year FITCE.be membership.

In selecting a topic, one can look at the theme 'The Media and Communications Industry Anno 2015' from one or more different angles.

• short write-up of your motivation to participate in this competition;
• short description of the topic you will be presenting (max one A4);
• recent CV;
• If you apply as a team, also provide details on your team members.
